The actual quote is Some people’s idea of free speech is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone says anything back, that is an outrage. - Winston Churchill
Junior posted the email chain himself because the Times already had it. Remember that just three days ago he said the meeting was about “adoptions.” These people are toast. Anyone still choosing to defend them should think about where the line is that cannot be crossed.
Actually it’s a contentious issue with Russia. A few years ago some US family abused an adopted Russian kid which Putin then used as a pretext to ban Russian adoptions to the US. His real reason was retaliation against sanctions US put on some Russian oligarchs. It’s a rather cruel thing Putin did because there’s a glut of US parents looking to adopt babies (white ones in particular, but that’s another story) and a glut of poor Russians without the means to raise children.
lookie lookie, the lawyer, natalia veselnitskaya seems to have been a plant. I think the demoncrats are still getting used to life without a media that is complicit in their treachery.
Sitting in the audience of a hearing where he’s testifying qualifies as sitting with him? So I guess the kid sitting next to her was also sitting with him?
Drip drip drip. Just a couple nights ago on Fox, Junior said he was being fully transparent, but he didn’t mention the other person in the meeting. These guys are toast.
Yeah, this Don Jr meeting thing is bad. I’m not looking to string anyone up for high treason (yet) but the fact that Trump and all his minions just lie all the time about everything is bizarre. Either they’re very stupid (which I don’t necessarily believe), they think they’re untouchable (more likely), or Trump is tired of being President and doesn’t care anymore (also pretty likely).
^I’ve long stopped following msm but let me understand this article correctly. he met an american former societ intelligence officer… To start, are you not allowed to meet other americans? secondly, he was a soviet CI agent - meaning its been over 20 years since hes worked in that field.
I dislike the current admin because they’ve essentially done a 180 on all foreign policy -more involvement in the middle east, less cooperation with russia etc, but i wish they just outright admitted they worked with the russians and that the russians are not our enemies.
But they are. They’re officially labeled a hostile foreign nation. They’re constantly on the other side of every world conflict we’re involved in. And they’re run by a glorified warlord that kills people that disagree with him.
To put it in the context of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Russia is like Thanos. Still the ultimate bad guy. Would like to dominate the universe but constantly thwarted. Then you have N. Korea which is more like Loki. Powerful but mostly just crazy with a chip on their shoulder because they feel they’ve been marginalized. China is more towards Russia’s power level but craftier and works better behind the scenes like Dr. Doom.
WW1 & WW2 are prime examples of where we were allied… Im not making the argument that we are currently fighting against them, we are, i am asking WHY are we fighting against them. Take contemporary time, why are we fighting against Assad and by definition, Russia? We are allied with Great Britain and they, still to this day, look to expand their power through colonization.
This will sound flippant but it really is at the root of it all…
Russia used to be a super power. Now they’re not. Not even close. But, they remember when the world trembled at their might. Now we don’t. Russia’s solution? Use force to annex neighbors, constantly be a prick at UN security votes, and do their best to hold onto what power they still have. Basically, they have an inferiority complex. And for Russians, that’s an especially bad thing. We’re not fighting against them. They’re fighting against us to flex what little muscle they have left.
Britain isn’t really an apples to apples comparison. I don’t recall the last time they used force to keep/take over another country. Maybe the Falklands? Still, Britain knows its place, namely behind the US. I don’t see Russia ever falling into line. Not in our lifetimes anyway.
TL;DR - Russia is the bad guy because they choose to play the villain.
