Hey guys, I recently cleared CFA Level 1 and I’ve been looking work for full-time/internships for about a month now.
I just had an interview with an AMC. Its a marketing internship, basically about investor education. So somewhat relevant.
I’m on the fence if I should do it or not, I actually don’t mind doing it but I’m not sure if I should. Thanks for any advice!
Ideally I’d like to get into equity research/VC.
You can make some good money if you move up to the top of Marketing at a good sized firm, but otherwise you’re looking at a very demanding job for not much money. I’d say go for it if you like creating content, positioning product, and making nice marketing collateral. It also offers some interesting opportunities in Product Management if that interests you at all. But…you’ll never, ever break into research coming from marketing.
