Milo Yiannopoulos

The challenge with arguing the Devil’s position is dealing with the after effects when the Devil wins.

He may just want free speech, and for all his efforts, he’ll be allowed to whine all he wants to their hand-picked audience as the people he’s backing ship him off to gay conversion therapy.

^ +1

Empty fear mongering and you’re better than that. It’s twisted words and to try to act like Pence is campaigning to “ship someone off to conversion therapy” is stupid. Not that I don’t love watching New Yorkers twist themselves into a pretzel over this. Beyond that, Trump has clearly stated that gay marriage is settled law and been supportive of bathroom usage. The left’s platform has been fear mongering since the start. “If you don’t cave to our view you’ll be living in Nazi Germany!” Yawn. Or, since we’re pulling Pence from 2000, lets look at Hillary’s DOMA support around that time. *crickets*

Congress should support the reauthorization of the Ryan White Care Act only after completion of an audit to ensure that federal dollars were no longer being given to organizations that celebrate and encourage the types of behaviors that facilitate the spreading of the HIV virus. Resources should be directed toward those institutions which provide assistance to those seeking to change their sexual behavior.

"Mr. Pence had not addressed speculation about his support for conversion therapy until last weekend, when Mr. Lotter told The Times it was “patently false” that Mr. Pence “supported or advocated” the practice.

Mr. Lotter said the vice president-elect had been calling for federal funds to “be directed to groups that promoted safe sexual practices” during his 2000 congressional campaign, and he said it was a “mischaracterization” to see the statement as a reference to conversion therapy."

id rather watch Tomi Lahren(in the buff) then watch this brownie king spout the same garbage.

It’s not empty fear mongering. When somebody says “I’m going to beat the sh!t out of you in some dark alley soon you (select epithet here) piece of sh!t,” you can sit there and say “Well, he’s got a free speech right to say that,” or you can be alarmed that it might actually happen. Or both. But if you choose both, what is the proper response?

If you try to push back on it, they tell you you’re just being politically correct and not respecting free speech rights. But the free speech is a red herring. I don’t know how to solve the issue but I do know that pretending it’s just a free speech issue is not going to prevent this stuff from happening.

^Direct threats aren’t protected by free speech.

Does Milo accept that? And how generic does it have to be before it is protected?

I think plenty of Breitbart folks would be happy to say “Of course that ‘beat the sh!t out of you’ was just joking. Can’t you take a joke?”

Milo does accept that threats aren’t free speech. That’s clearly not his stance and you’re badly twisting words / stances every time you’ve chimed in. Your straw man is showing.

Great irony.

bchad, you’re trying to have a rational argument with somebody who’s trolling you. Just disengage and ignore.

I don’t really see the point behind always playing devils advocate other than to make splash and then make some cash.

Either that or it’s just taking enjoyment out of being a gobshite.

Wow, this thread got popular.

Bringing it back to the central issue; the reason this guy/movement is getting attention, bizarre identity-based rules on who can say what. Here are some examples…

Women are allowed to say/do man-hate, we see it promoted in movies, TV show and advertisements…but if men do the same they go to jail. Reason being that women were discriminated against, and so they get extra rights. Blacks can say the N-word, but I have to write “the N-word”. It’s not okay to talk bad about blacks, but it’s totally okay to talk bad about Asians. Reason being that blacks were discriminated against, so they get extra rights, and Asians are strong enough to take it. Gay people can say anything. Straight white males can say NOTHING.

Huh? It’s all a bunch of racist/sexist non-logic, anti-bigotry as the new bigotry, and now you get the predictable backlash. It’s so weird because it’s really only America that is always going too far, obsessed with this crap. Elsewhere in the world people don’t get so hung up, homo sapiens are naturally politically incorrect, who cares.

Are progressives happy to say this is joke, or is it a threat?

“…I wish we were in high school, and I could take him behind the gym. That’s what I wish,”

IT’S SICKENING THAT A LEADER OF OUR COUNTRY WOULD BRAG ABOUT SEXUAL ASSAULTING TRUMP LIKE THAT.

-Role Reversal Progressive Headline

True but elsewhere in the world people tend to not be so crude about race either. I mean what sort of process gives a green light for this?

http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/tv/tv-ratings/2-broke-girls-slammed-for-aboriginal-joke/news-story/a82342002519bf6aa0db781e6c43a462

At least let them keep their crap within their own country.

Funny coming from Australia where it was a legal gray area allowing white Australians to hunt aboriginals until 1973. And they’re probably the most racist country on earth. But other than that…

Uhhh, Are you referencing the capital punishment abolition act? 1973 was when a law was passed making it illegal to kill indigenous aussies (or any aussie) under any circumstance, prior to that the last sanctioned massacre was 1928 and that was a frontier war. It has never been legal for anyone to indiscriminately kill an aboriginal (whether that law was upheld or not is debatable) but other than that…

Sure Oz fucked up with the aboriginals but you guys have managed to piss of anyone and everyone who isn’t a straight White male so maybe instead of playing one-upmanship as to who is not racist accept constructive criticism and try and figure out where it went wrong? just saying…

It’s not about who is more racist (that would be rather difficult to prove). It’s about everyone being racist. Hell, Canadians are the nicest people on earth and they hate their indigenous people.

The only reason your post makes any sort of sense is because our culture is exported more so than any other country’s (in point of fact, your 2 Broke Girls example). Is it our duty to lead by example and create some politically correct utopian world? I don’t think so. If you find our culture offensive, stop absorbing it.

There’s no question the US has serious race issues that need to be addressed, but that just puts us in “good” company with EU nations, at least according to European Network Against Racism. If you changed every reference from Europe to the US in the linked report, critics of the US would be citing it left and right.

Maybe not a utopian world but one which accurately reflected the reality of American society would automatically serve as a check and prevent garbage like the one referenced coming out.

The last part is actually fascinating now that you mention. A lot of Western nations are in the process of implementing the French example of cultural exception and with Hollywoods lack of monetary viable success in penetrating markets beyond the West and Japan, the threat of plateauing and even contracting has forced them to sell out to Chinese organizations in exchange for access to the Chinese market. Interesting times indeed.
