When looking at mortality tables, are we always to assume that a given probability of survival is from current day to that age? Or is it ever presented as probability of survival GIVEN than they have reached the prior age.
Ex: Current age = 50
60 - 90%
65 - 85 %
70 - 75%
If asked what the probability this person survives until the age of 65, is it just “85%”?
Or should I ever consider thinking “If they have reached the age of 60, THEN the probability of survival to 65 is 85%”
Basically - are these ever conditional probabilities or always absolute?
