Optional readings?

Hello! I just enrolled to write my Level I in June and going through the readings, I noticed a good chunk of “Reading 5: The GIPS Standards” is marked as “optional.”

Does this mean the material in these sections will not be tested on the exam? There are still a few practice problems towards the end of the reading.

Optional material is not included in the LOSs; it is not testable.

but there may be something in the Optional Section (note I say Optional Section within a reading) that may help you understand something elsewhere. There is NO optional reading (as in entire reading) in the CFA curriculum.
