Has anyone recieved a PCP investigation how long does a response usually take from CFAI? I recieved one about a month ago and responded with my statement against the charges immedietly. It is a suspected cheating investigation (accused of looking at another candidates paper) - the proctors were unsure and the eveidence is weak at best. How long does it get to recieve a response and get cleared?
This was for L1, I want to see if I should start studying for LII because the last day to register for LII is March 17. Any chance I hear back by then?
From what I’ve read on this forum over the last year or so, it seems like PCP investigations can last many months - often long enough to prevent people from registering for the next level as it have not been settled by the last registration date cut off.
I’ve read a couple of cases where they were waiting at least 5months and still hadn’t heard anything back - so that doesn’t seem like an unusual time frame.
even if theoretically someone did look at another person’s paper it would be so hard to gauge certain answer bubbles and also gauge if the person you were theoretically copying knew the right answers
I feel like it is a mistake of perception of the proctors for cases like this (assuming you are innocent) and real PCP investigations should not arise over this issue. if you get caught with schweser’s quicksheet of formulas or something then yeah you’re blatently cheating but I seem to hear cases like this that really f-up candidates lives
Analti_Calte_Equity what have you heard as to the outcome to these sort of cases? it’s soo frustrating because i kinda just need to pass - career advancement, etc.
D**n…it sounds like you really believe you’re gonna get cleared. First, the process will take forever…and second, there is a 99% chance you will be found guilty and test will be voided, even if you didnt cheat. You should call every day to see the status. Did you happen to lift your eyes off of your paper or look around without looking at anyones paper? If you did, that’s your bad man…should have kept eyes down and focused even if you were “stretching” or giving your eyes a rest…plenty of people dont let their eyes stray for the whole 6 hours and thats the safest bet. Good luck next year and dont give them even the slightest reason to suspect of you cheating.
interesting… from my understanding don’t they give you a notice of investigation report. They way I read the letter it explains to me they are looking at the evidence to see if they would like to pursue action. Is this not the case?
…i’m trying to keep my job and look in the mirror and tell myself “i can afford rent”.
just because a proctor is having a bad day doesn’t mean they have the right to ruin someone life.
UPDATE: to clarify, i’m required to do this for my job. This isn’t to say I wasn’t interested in pursuing the designation on my own, but now there is more at stake.
^Are you serious? You never answered the question…did you take your eyes off your paper and look elsewhere (not necessarily to someone elses paper) at all during the test?
There may be the occasional over zealous proctor, but there’s nothing they can do if there’s nothing to suspect. There must have been something questionable you did
What should I prepare for? There is only 1 proctor accusing me of something and she was on the other side of the conference hall. If it is a 1 year I could probably talk my self into staying. There is actually 2 other proctor reports that has my back. They say I didn’t.
After proctor 1 wrote me up. Another 2 proctors came and watch me. They found nothing.
