Pencil for Scantron.

I’ve got a mechanical pencil that i love. What kind of lead (graphite) do i need to be sure it shows up on the test? nothing would be worse than getting a zero b/c my answers don’t register. Thanks in advance.

HB/2B 2B is a softer lead… and I have found it only for a 0.5 mm pencil.

yea, i wondered about this too i have some lead/mechanical pencils but they dont say “#2” on them… is this a must?

i decided to go the old fashioned route, just to be safe. although i do love my mechanical pencil.

I typically use mechanicial pencils but given the number of bubbles I’ll be filling in on Saturday the old fashioned pencil will probably much easier to use. Plus I don’t need my lead breaking every five seconds.

I’m using the same mechanical pencil with the same leads I used on bubble sheets throughout university…

I did a time trial - filled in 700 bubbles: using my mechanical pencil for a total time of 1103 seconds regular wooden-style for a total time of 995 seconds I think it was the time spent advancing my lead which caused the delay. Clearly old fashioned is the way to go.

How many sharpening windows did this account for :wink: What is the probability of a little bit of lead breaking off in the sharpener that turns into an absolute pain in the ass when you have to bang the thing on the table to get it out - all the time with the whole room of people looking at you.
