Percentile Rank on Practice

Hi everyone,

I was wondering what your opinion is on how much we can extrapolate from our ranking in the practice section of the CFA.

Thanks,

IT seems the standard is high this year. My average is 79% but that is only the 63rd percentile. Competition is heating up this year!

it’s biased and skewed due to people retaking it over and over until they get 100% (completionist syndrome) or due to people doing the questions with an open book format.

so it’s meaningless, I’d say doing mocks of past papers (adjusted for relevancy for this year’s curriculum) and your score on them for the first try should be a better gauge.

^^ excellent point.

Where do you find this?

Assuming a 55% pass rate then being in the top 45th percentile means your still on track to pass. If you never reset and you’re just answering questions with the official timing and no open book and you’re still in the top 50th percentile I would say you’re doing well. Everytime i do a vig i bounce between 52 and 60, I don’t sweat it. If i get it wrong, i review and im stronger candidate for it. Just keep pushing

Predra this is found on the CFAI website. Just login and go to the practice questions

When I go I just see my % correct, not any percentiles. It gives me like a proficient etc rating too but that’s it.

For the qbank/topic test questions, right?

Ahhhh found it I’m dumb. 64% for 73% correct
