Did everybody who passed get a personal call from CAIA?
They called to congratulate me on passing level 1… and how I should sign up for level 2 right away…
Made me realize how small the group of people who take and pass this exam must be… I really hope that soon it’ll pick up and be as well known and respected as CFA.

Yes, strange but also a nice reminder since fees go up next year, i.e. March is the last time exam will be $900-$1000. I think after Jan 31/12, it hits $1,250 - a big jump if you’re paying out of pocket like myself. 100,000 with a CFA and 5,000 with a CAIA… I hope it doesn’t take membership to increase that much before CAIA is taken more seriously, especially in it’s own field. So many hedge fund managers I see have CFA, not CAIA, after their names.
I completely agree. CFA is the industry standard at the moment… The only reason why I signed up for this exam is so that one day it will hold the same regard as CFA (or close at least) All I know CFA was easy when it first started and became the hard exam it is today. Hopefully one day I can look back and be glad that I took this before it becomes as hard as CFA.
