As above… I will be taking cfa lvl 2 in june this yr and already reg for the FRM full paper this nov… I was wondering how realistic isit to expect to pass CAIA lvl 1 and FRM full given the tight constraint … can people who have done all those papers pls advise…
I haven’t done this but FRM Full sounds like a 400 - 500 hour test, CAIA is 200 - 250…how much time can you dedicate? If it is anything less than full time, and you are anything less then a certified genius at quant, I wouldn’t try it.
yes it’s possible. im doing cfa level 2, caia level 2, and full frm all this year.
yes i have done it although i m nt a certificable genius in quant… and i did it part-time working 13 hr a day in quant
Hi cranthir4, adalfu I was wondering how you are faring in your endeavours. I am aiming for CAIA L2 in sept and CFA L1 in Dec and I would like to see how other people are coping in a similar situation. Arguably your workload is higher as you’ve also got the FRM to contend with but it would be a good indication.
You guys are total tools…
Does anyone have any info on the overlap of the material from the CFA to the FRM or CAIA? If anyone would have info on LOS by Exam that would be great. I just sat for CFA Level II, I think I’m a marginal pass or band 9 or 10 fail. I’m currently out of work with allot of experience in “Retail Wealth Management”. I’m looking to go a different path and get out of retail. If I passed L2 I think September to June should be fine and if I failed I think I should be just fine starting Level II again in the winter. I do have some time from now until early fall to study for the FRA or CAIA. If possible I’d like to have as much study time crossover as possible.
The prereq material for CAIA is essentially CFA level 1 without FINRA and Fixed Income. The pre-req material is not tested but the concepts are essential to understanding what you are learning about in the CAIA level 1 curiculum. FRM appears to have some overlap as well with the CFA but not a great deal. It appears to me that CAIA and FRM keep the CFA’s curriculum in mind while designing their own so as not to overlap. I’m doing CAIA Level 1, FRM Lev 1, and GMAT this fall. I’ll be doing CAIA Level 2 and studying for CFA Level 3 this spring. I’ll get around to FRM level 2 perhaps next fall if I’m not too busy.
