Potential Automation of US Jobs by %

Financial analysts at 11% potential so we’re safe according to this, for now…

Lots of the grunt work done by analysts could be automated. I’m seeing this as an increasing problem. The more we automate the entry level tasks, the fewer people we have that can do the higher level jobs. It’s a bit interesting. We are eliminating the jobs that no one wants to do, but in doing so, we are eliminating any of the developmental roles.

loss of data production finance jobs will coincide with more data scientist or data analyst type jobs. overall employment for number analyst nerds will increase over time without a doubt.

Some jobs just need a human touch. Take colonic hydro therapists for instance. A cold machine could never massage you into accepting the process with ease.

^I just LOL’d

Strippers can never be automated. Robotic tits present the “uncanny valley” issue.

Didn’t you see Ex Machina?

Adulators do need to be human. Although the people who own everything will like the number of life points they have accumulated, adulation from a live human being will always count for more than a programmed line that says “you rock, press ok to continue.”

Fembots seemed to work well in Austin Powers

Real robots may be still too far away, but virtual reality that looks real enough could be enough

After I watched Deus Ex and realized that some people probably have a sexy robot fetish, the thought occured to me that there should be a niche for real humans acting as sexy robots to perform various functions (which would be ironic since the sexy robots were designed to replicate humans in the first place). This would be one example of technological progress and automation creating jobs for humans.

I can pretty much gaurantee that goes on in Japan.

Indeed. Though this fetish is pretty tame by Japanese standards.

I watched Ex Machina and the guy with the home in the wilderness totally reminded me of some of the AF crowd.
