Anyone know how much of this actually needs to be studied for the exam? Is it needed more for background on the topics that will be covered or will there be actual exam questions on all of the Learning Objectives? Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated!
What is the prerequisite material. All i’m using is Schweser.
Thank God this forum is alive again… how are you guys progressing? I think Pre-requisite material will not be directly asked in the exam, although it might be used indirectly in answering some questions. This is just my guess.
I got my books on Saturday. Started reading. Will do a second read and then qbank/mocks/end of chapter. Been hard with the world cup though.
The pre-req material covers pretty much everything in CFA level 1 from what it appears. I’ve looked at sample test questions and some of this material is implicit in questions but does not appear to be directly asked. For example, I don’t think they’ll ask you to to construct a confidence level, hypothesis test, or multivariable regression on the test. They will of course talk about returns being positively skewed and having kurtosis. This is just the way it appears to me, so someone feel free to dispute this with me. I’d like to know what I’m responsible for as well.
Can somebody post his/her experience of CAIA L1 exam whether we have to go through the pre-requisite reading also? and if yes, what is the weightage approx??
I didn’t even bother with the pre-req material and passed L1 handily. My impression is that the pre-reqs are just self-assessment tools to see if you have a basic grasp of some financial analysis topics before getting into the actual material.
