I have worked on both side of things. You will bring lot of stuff on table from your institutional experience. It is not so hard to learn nuances of PWM. CFA level 3, pwm for individuals covers most of the ground. I had say you could be up and running in a month or so, if people withing your firm are willing to share with you how they do financial planning, assess risks and return requirements and make a suitable portfolio.

I can’t give you any feedback on the firm but I can give you some comments on the role.

I think you have a great background for the role, given your education and work experience as you will be mainly responsible for managing the HNW investments. You would also need to become familiar with the financial planning aspects for HNW clients as well, but the firm may have someone who does the planning and you would work with (since planning isn’t listed in the job decription). I would suggest finding this out.

Why are you considering this role versus your current job?
