Hi All, I’ll be sitting the Sep 2013 level 1 exam soon. In terms of the level of difficulty how realistic are the Kaplan online Q-Bank questions when compared to the actual exam?
Not sure about online questions, but I prepared with Kaplan’s paper practice exams and the questions were comparable to what I saw on the test day. Wouldn’t be surprised if both online and printed versions include the same questions.
Anyone with some detailed reponse.
much appreciated. thank you
I used Schweser for L1 September last year, the first iteration of the new CAIA 1. From my experience I found the Schweser test bank to be pretty good. I would think that if you can answer most or all of the questions there you should have no real problem with the exam itself.
I basically went through the question bank completing it subject by subject and as I apporached the exam I went back through the practice exams from Schweser and the mock exam from CAIA. If you’ve done well on all of this you should pass no problem. From memory I was scoring high 70s in the practice exams.
I passed with 7 outstanding and 1 higher.
In reply to HF Rat, I don’t recall any overlap between QBank and the practice exams.
And of all the material the most useful was the CAIA Mock
thanks guys. much appreciated. I seem to be doing pretty well in the kaplan Q bank. scoring mostly 75-80%.
thanks again to all and feel free to add more if anyone has more comments/suggestions.
You are already scoring 75-80% with one month to go? You are well ahead of everyone
What are you going to do for the remaining weeks?
go over the remaining topics. i have the practice exams to do still and the CAIA online exam. and I;m working full time.
Do anyone know how the CAIA exam format works? are the questions set out topic by topic like the CFA level 1 exam?
