I will be starting a new position as an investment / portfolio manager with a family office later this year and will focus on alternative investments. (Almost) all the investments will be indirect, i.e. into private equity and real estate funds.
I do not have a background in fund analysis / manager selection and want to get a better understanding of the methods and processes. However, all books, lectures, or materials I found so far are usually on the direct PE / RE investing side - nothing much on the fund selection / manager selection part of it.
Does anyone work with a family office (or pension fund, endowment, etc.) and can recommend some books to get a first good understanding of the matter?
Thanks a lot!
