Real life ethics problem

Guys- This problem is something that we may encountered in real life. Please help with answer.

Max ( a CFA 2 candidate) sitting for a job interview and mentions prestige of CFA designation and says " While aiming for CFA I mastered FRA. I think this is important because CFA candidates have the best skills to read annual reports. I must admit that my abilities in this area has greatly improved since i started preparation for the exam. According to standard VII(B):

  1. Max has violated standard by boasting

  2. Max has not violated standard as he is only stressing to his potential employer CFA designation and his skills resulting from preparation of exam

This problem is slightly edited version of the one given in Soleadea mock exam

Thanks

He hasn’t violated the standard merely by boasting; he’s violated the standard by claiming superior (in fact, superlative) skill merely by virtue of his candidacy, which is not an accurate description of the CFA program.

Violated because confusing fact with opinion.

Thanks a lot guys

My pleasure.

yes he has violated CFAI
