you look at information presented to you - and ignore a lot of stuff, and based on your initial judgment - decide the current situation is “representative” of something else, when it really might not be so.
could happen in two ways
You ignore all past information - and see the new information is representative of what you are seeing
You ignore new information completely - and see the OLD information represents what you are seeing.
either way is bad…
