Resources for Level 3 - Nathan's chalk and board is a great option!

Hi, this is intended to help Indian and global candidates who are not aware of various instructors that can help you prepare well to clear the exam as soon as possible. I prepared with Nathan Ronen from chalk & board and my experience was very different and more enriching than the plain Kaplan notes route I took 11-12 years ago for preparing for the earlier CFA levels. I took this decision after doing a lot of research on prep options and understanding that preparation for Level 3 is going to be different than prior levels (in terms of depth of conceptual application and ability to express it in few words).

Experience with Nathan in brief (many other posts have more details) - His breakdown of the CFA content is not just the best part (particularly the fixed income level 2 refresher, roll return are way better than anything I’ve seen) but also his immense experience with the CFA exams which plugs into his guidance with approach, exam strategy & preparation makes him one of the best instructors one could go with. What differentiates him is his personal involvement and quick resolution of all doubts addressed within a day or two max (on gmail, call, wapp) which is something I was not acquainted with before but it did become a very critical part of prep as I progressed. Learning is fun with Nathan & I was very happy with the quality of learning and preparation, whatever the results, which I hope can back it up.

I also recommend Nathan’s essay writing workshop for an experience on how to manage the time crunch on the live exam with crisp to-the-point answers to give yourself the best chance. Also, a live discussion meant it stuck better, complexities were cleared on the spot and grading helped identify & polish on key areas. I also think it was a great example of visualizing how complex elements from concepts like carry trade could be condensed into a short realistically possible essay.
