Haha many thanks dude!!!
Dude donāt give up. Perhaps its just the exam day excitementā¦You can do thisā¦Have come all the way through L1 and L2!
Passed !! Its been a heck of a journey, but I am glad its over.
Congratulations, Sam!
Passed on the 3 attempt. Paid fees n got the congrats email of becoming charter holder.
Dont lose hope any one failing today. Master 8-10 mocks n question bank plus schewser. Use MM and schewser mocks.
Congratulations, Chumkayz!
Passed ā¦ I canāt believe itās finally over. Itās been a few hours and Iām still feeling something between shock and relief that I donāt have to cycle through portfolio immunization for the nth timeā¦loll
For those that are struggling with Level 3 and are considering throwing in the towel - I recommend first checking out D3 and giving Gurmeet a call. Iām embarrassed to admit how many times Iāve failed this level and if youāre failing and confused with your results , as I was - there may be an issue with your approach.
Itās true that there isnāt a secret sauce and nothing supplements for grit and hard work;however, Gurmeet has a unique approach to tackling the curriculum ā¦ that was useful to me and may be useful to you.
ā¦ feel free to shoot me a message if anyone has any questionsā¦I rarely see D3 being mentioned on analyst forums along with the other prep providers and yet, Iām fairly convinced that Iād be waking up to Level 3 purgatory again without his helpā¦
ā¦thanks S2000, the OG Of OGs of Analyst forumsā¦ your knowledge and witty comments brightened more than a few rough study sessions and Iām forever grateful.
Gratz again to all that passed and for those that didnāt, donāt give up! If you had it in you to pass Levels 1,2 you certainly can pass 3!
I am very very relieved to say I passed level 3 at the third attempt. Due to a number of factors this has been very challenging and not sure I would of been able to commit the time to do it again. Level 3 is definitely the most challenging one.
In short if someone wants to know the steps for success as I see it;
(i) As others have said, use official CFA books and complete the Bluebox, white text and EOC questions 4/5 times. Donāt bother with the questions in third party providers like Schweser.
(ii) if youāre doing level 3 for first time use LevelUp - Marc has been teaching strictly level 3 for a number of years and been teaching CFA material in general probably longer than many of us were born! His workbook and videos are geared to the official CFA material and will save you a lot trying to work out things and he shows you the tricks in text books that will confuse you and waste your time
(iii) if youāre a level 3 repeater and have the schweser books - the books are actually quite good in the way they cover the material and I would continue to reference but you will NOT pass without looking at the things i mentioned in point (i) , the schweser mock exams are terrible - do not use these. I would encourage you to sign up for LevelUp but if you didnāt really use the CFA books previously you may struggle to get the work covered in 3 months for next exam assuming you work full time, I would suggest signing up for the August exam so you have a 6 month revision period and can prepare in a calm manner.
To clarify LevelUp is certainly the way to go in how material is prepared but make no mistake you have to put the work in yourself.
I sincerely wish all future level 3 candidates the best of luck for future exams
Same as here.
I tried my best and it was my second attempt, but i failed again. Iām quite depressed and lost for where to start again. For me, Ethics question set showed up several times, and i felt it was too much. And i scored 50% on Ethicsā¦ OMG.
Anyway, lets do it again. And stay focus! Feel sorry for you.
You will make it next time
Congratulations, J!
Youāre very kind.
Itās been my pleasure.
Congratulations, GG!
thank you S2000magician. i only became aware of analystforum after failing level 3 for the second attempt and your advice to try LevelUp was key to passing. thank you so much.
Iām glad that I could be of some help.
Hi all,
Congrats those have passed. Do you think the past CFAI exam papers are still valid? I did not passed this time round and realised that on actual exam, the way CBT questions are formatted and asked seem to be very different from past CFAI exam.
Thanks
I passed. First attempt but after three cancellations.
And with that i have somehow passed all the levels in single attempt.
The level 3 was different, very different. And it took me a while to get to that Eureka moment.
I have largely relied on curriculum , and had a subscription of MM which i used selectively in areas where i thought the official text didnāt teach well .
MMs videos are great , and also his platform of mock exams are very helpful to get accustomed!
I bought some mocks and the key word description materials from the legend in this forum @S2000magician .
Saying nothing new but his materials are pure gold. I did spend a lot of time on this material to approach the AM and i think this has made all the difference in the end. I would highly recommend this about 2 months before the exam and not later
The other resource i used is the Finquiz question bank. I am very positive about it esp the volume of questions and a very supportive team.
I am late thirties , with a full time demanding banking job , 2 boys( 1 born in 2020) and am average past record as a student , so itās definitely possible with some discipline and resilience
Congratulations, Manisangsu!
I would suggest save that time back on studying curriculums deeper.
Thank you, sir! And thanks for answering my questions over the last few years!
