Has bought/used the scweser audio cd’s or mp3’s? any opinion/review?
I am a BIG fan of these audio guides. It basically reads through 100% of the schweser notes books. My past success plan has involved taking the 40 hours or so of mp3s, and going STRAIGHT through them, even if it glazes over things I don’t know 100%. Then I do TONS and TONS of practice problems. It’s kind of like a massive injection of areas of knowledge, and i perfect it on the practice tests.
i used it for level 2 and was successful with the exam. i don’t know what % of preparedness i would attribute to the audio, but it couldn’t have hurt. i had my ipod loaded exclusively with the curriculum and listened to it as much as i could. the repetition of what you’re reading can really help drive it home. i have also purchased and loaded the level 3 curriculum to my ipod.
readytopass, I’d be interested in hearing where/how you loaded the curriculum to your ipod. Are you talking about the eBook on the CFAI website?
I had them for Level III and found it most helpful on the non-quantitative topics such as Ethics, GIPS, Behavioral Finance, and Corporate Governance. I also found it helpful on the differences between the various institutional investors that you need to be prepared to write an IPS on. I did not find it helpful on the quantitative sections such as derivatives and fixed income.
Pinto, I’m not referring to the eBook, I’m referring to the schweser audio cds…

$250 ?!?! At 40 hours of recording, do they really have to charge this much to make money on the audio?
