Secret Sauce

Is this out yet? Does anyone have the Schweser or the Elan version for 2013 and recommend which is better?

I didn’t have it for L1…but I think it might be worth the purchase…

I guess it will be out near April? This is from historical candidates fron 2012/11… i am using 2012 just until 13 comes out…

I got my LII Secret Sauce yesterday for 2013. It also has that red head lady on the front cover, so when I carry it around in public, I try to block the cover, because people think I’m reading either romance, or cheap porn.

Is it same size as L1 or more/less detailed? For L1, I used both the Elan 11th Hour + Schweser Secret Sauce and thought together it was pretty awesome.

I didn’t have it for Level I, but it’s almost same height as the schweser books (slightly shorter), and about 2/3 the width, and 3/4 inch thick. Compact enough to bring around, dense enough to smack somebody in the face loudly with if the occasion arose.

^ Haha - SOLD! People are already pissing me off and I’m sure this is only the beginning of my stress levels…who knows what i’ll do come May!

I am using 2013 version of schweser since Jan. It is available in the market.

Would you mind telling me how many pages the 2013 Secret Sauce contains? I just got the LII Eleventh Hour Guide for 2013 and its like 285 pages.

How are you guys integrating SS into your studies. I didn’t have it for L1. Are you using as your second pass read or after second pass? Or right before exam?

I’m currently on my second pass and, because I found Secret Sauce to be a waste of money at L1, I’ve started making my own secret sauce. I’ve printed out the LOS’ off the CFAI website and I’m using one sheet of note paper per SS to briefly answer each LOS with which I’m not totally confident and attaching it to the printed LOS’. It hasn’t been taking much time, and it’s tailored to my needs - no fluff. I intend to use this after my second pass during my practice exam stages.

So I went from CFAI the whole way through once, then onto the condensed Schweser books for a review while creating my own condensed-er study guide, and then plan to rely primarily on those notes in April and May.

I only used CFA Level 1 SS, qbank and practice exams and some how I was able to pass. This years SS doesnt seem that valuable as the level 1 was last year but I also feel level two you have to do more studying than for level 1. Lastly, for people that just need an overall view of the concepts to see how they integrate with eachother before diving into the details; The SS is a big help.

Secret Sauce Schweser Level II is 205 pages, including the formula sheets at the end.
