Hi everyone,
I’m preparing for the CFA Level 3 exam in August 2025 and would appreciate some advice on my study strategy. I have the following resources:
• CFAI official textbooks
• Kaplan-Schweser notes and videos
• Mark Meldrum packages
So far, I’ve been reading the CFAI official text, watching Mark Meldrum videos, and making handwritten notes. While I find the CFAI books thorough, they’re very dense and time-consuming, and I’m not retaining as much as I’d like. I really like the Mark Meldrum videos—they’re comprehensive and engaging—but they are also lengthy. Watching them and taking notes has been helpful, though.
I’ve also been watching the Kaplan-Schweser videos, but they feel somewhat redundant alongside the Meldrum material.
I’m considering focusing on the Mark Meldrum videos and taking notes but would like to supplement them with some text for reinforcement.
Should I:
1. Do a quick read of the CFAI official textbooks?
2. Use the Schweser notes instead?
3. Combine both approaches in some way?
I’m looking for a more time-efficient way to cover the curriculum thoroughly. Any suggestions or insights from your experience would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
