I am appearing for CFA exam in June and also thinking about taking CAIA level II exam in September. I passed level I of CAIA in 2008 and now want to finish it asap. I want to know is 2 month period enough to pass level II of CAIA?
Depends on your situation - with a job and kids, probably not. Studying full time, you should be able to do it.
You should take CAIA 2 ASAP. The exam isn’t easy and you have only 3 years to complete the CAIA program. I’m not exactly sure what happens after 3 years, but i would assume that you have to take level 1 again or something like that.
Jarvey that is the plan to finish it before 3 years timeline. If not this september than next March for sure as 3 year window is september 2011. 2 to 2.5 months are enough for level II, correct?
i’d recommend writing to the association to find out exactly when your last exam session in the window is. keep their communications as evidence just in case. 2-2.5 months is ok. it depends on your background and your study skills. so i can’t really say. all i know is that you should overkill studying on the exam. this is my second time taking it. previous time i didn’t study that hard because i was either burnt out from CFA 1 & CAIA 1 or my head as in the clouds from passing both. Maybe it was both. Anyways, this time around the exam was harder and i’m not sure if i passed. Definitely take the exam at least 1 period prior to your final window date.
