Can I hold both long and short positions in the same security when using short extension strategy?
I think it’s still ok if I long and short the same security but at different amount.
It’s ok, but what would be the purpose, there is a cost associated with selling short, and you only net the difference in the change of the stocks price, and your net exposure, in addition to paying short fees.
