I’m really really suprised you failed with your split. Unless you literally got all wrong in topics that you scored < 50 , I think you should have passed. I still can’t belive. Can you scan your CFA email and post it? I saw people with way less stellar split than yours passed the CFA level 2.

I passed my level 2 this year, in my second go. Last year, in my first go, I give it up around April, because I believe that there is no enough time to do that, so I stop preparing around early April and focus on other parts of my life. This is a typical me, if it is not a 100% sure thing(or > 90%), I won’t do it, I am not willing to spend time and energy. However, the thing is I regre this decision, I can do better than that, 2 months is enough for me if I work harder. Anyway, in my second go, I made my decision, it will be my last chance of level2 no matter I pass it or not. I don’t want to spend my “whole life” on this thing. There is old saying in chinese, "One can make the same mistake once even twice but never thrice“ (maybe not a good translation, just try to understnd the meaning), The thing is, do you give yourself lots of chances, and always thinking about another try?

For me, I admire your current situation, I am looking for a finance-ralted job, it is very difficult at this moment. Anyway, I am still trying.

I studied a year in Shanghai and the OPs attitude reminds me of my colleagues there. From a very early age on they study and memorize insane amounts of information but I met post-grads who could barely hold a presentation or apply their knowledge flexibly in a sightly different context. Sounds like the OP might have exactly this problem coupled with a little too much pride/arrogance.

I don’t know if i can give any better advice than other people who already did. CFA level II is not an easy test. it one of the test we need little luck too. Thank god, I passed in first try. I studied 2 months… but morning to evening though. I mean from morning 9 to evening 10. i got > 70 in 4 topics and 5 between 70 and 50 and econ <50.

If i have to say what helped me most- i say previous years CFA mock tests. I did 3 years of CFA mocks.

OP. Give it one more go, focus on areas where you are weak and get yourself above the line. You’ve already invested so much time and energy to quit now.
