Starting a Hedge Fund Company ?!

A bit of background myself. I have been working in IT for 7 years. In the past 3 years I cleared CFA while working in an IB, majoring in structured products and risks. I work daily on the front-office trading application and are quite comfortable of how things works. I have a few college friends who were in traders and qunta in wall street, they expressed interest to move to Hong Kong here and start our own hedge funds consisting of various strategy. We think the initial capital isn’t an issue because we got some wealthy uncles Anyone have done or hear similar stories before? Do I need to hire a consultant to walk us thru how to get this done correctly?

Why HK? While I think HK still serves as a “gateway” to Asia, there are other cities that have much more energy.
