Suggestion for CFA L3 Cheat sheet

Hey

I am using CFA Curriculum as my study text and have a subscription for Bloomberg as well. Want to know what is the best means for revision for the CFA L3 Sept’21 exam? Is the bloomberg cheat sheet reliable or if there’s any reliable one i should download/purchase?

Thanks

From somebody who just passed in May - the best cheat sheet you could possibly get your hands on: MAKING YOUR OWN!

I personally started by reading the curriculum and getting a good foundation set. Then, when reviewing all of the sections again, I took my own hand written notes on the sections that I knew would require a) more understanding on my part and b) things that seem kind of straight forward but I knew I would need to spend more time internalizing.

For each section, I would make sheets of the formulas that required my memorization (these sheets were only formulas that would go at the front of my hand written notes for each section).

Then I would spend a lot of my time studying the hand written notes I’d made, because I knew that was what I really needed to study (mind you: it was a ton of notes in a 3 ring binder).

Once I reviewed those hand written notes a couple times, I’d spend time writing out my formulas a BUNCH of times in a row to try to get some muscle memory - then, I would quiz myself on those formulas : all the while, continuing to read my hand written notes.

Towards the end (final couple months), I revamped the process to really try to find the things I was still really weak on and put a focus there. Of course, I was still able to review my other notes to stay sharp there, but at that point it wasn’t awfully time consuming on those sections.

The best cheat sheets you can have are ones that you make for yourself, the scrub and make again, etc. Because you are actually learning and retaining way more information while you are making those cheat sheets to begin with.

Hope this helps!

Also goes without saying, supplementing that entire process with a bunch of practice questions and mocks - I did the BBs in the curriculum several times and did at least a dozen mocks with emphasis on the essay questions. Also took two essay writing workshops with Chalk and Board which were extremely valuable. Even with all of that, I finished the morning essay section with like 30 seconds left

Chalk & Board saved my bacon probably. Took their mock sessions too. I second all your points and tips above.
