wow, that is an elaborate scheme…you gotta give respect to these guys for doing this operation, takes a lot of work…poor guy, he should have just hired an escort…
I don’t think this guy is normal. He is probably one of those socially dysfunctional math geniuses. I mean, even if he wasn’t tipped off by the person claiming to be a hot girl on the internet, he should have known something was up when they told him to put 2kg of cocaine into his suitcase…
“Naive fool” indeed. Perhaps he had mild autism which helped him in his physics and math, but left him clueless about social signals. It’s almost unconscionable that someone on the internet today wouldn’t be at least a little suspicious about things like that.
And, what the heck is a “particle phenomenologist”? The particle both is, and is not: it is, rather, becoming.
Particle physics phenomenology is the part of theoretical particle physics that deals with the application of theory to high-energy particle physics experiments. Within the Standard Model, phenomenology is the calculating of detailed predictions for experiments, usually at high precision (e.g., including radiative corrections). Beyond the Standard Model, phenomenology addresses the experimental consequences of new models: how their new particles could be searched for, how the model parameters could be measured, and how the model could be distinguished from other, competing models. Phenomenology forms a bridge between the highly mathematical world of theoretical physics (such as quantum field theories and theories of the structure of space-time) and experimental particle physics.
That’s really strange, because (from Wikipedia, which isn’t the final authority but isn’t a bad place to start): Phenomenology (from Greek: phainómenon “that which appears”; and lógos “study”) is the philosophical study of the structures of subjective experience and consciousness.
That would suggest that Particle Phenomenology is the study of the structures of subjective experience and consciousness of particles. Which would presume that atomic and subatomic particles are conscious. That could be true, I suppose, but it doesn’t strike me as the sort of thing physicists would study.
Particle Ontology would make more sense: Ontology (from onto-, from the Greekὤν, ὄντος “being; that which is”, present participle of the verb εἰμί, eimi “be”, and -λογία, -logia: “science, study, theory”) is the philosophicalstudy of the nature of being, existence, or reality, as well as the basic categories of beingand their relations. Traditionally listed as a part of the major branch of philosophy known asmetaphysics, ontology deals with questions concerning what entities exist or can be said to exist, and how such entities can be grouped, related within a hierarchy, and subdivided according to similarities and differences.
That would make a lot more sense, because it would be about what particles can and can’t exist and how they might be categorized and shown to exist.
Some physicist thought they were a philosopher, so chose a phancy sounding word like phenomenology without actually knowing what the heck they were talking about.
After certain age, guys just need to accept that hookers are their last real option. I wonder if hookers in some cases refuse to provide their services to an elder client.
^ I don’t know, I’d say over 60 unless you rake in lots of money or are head of the CIA, which could buy maybe five more years. Apparently at that age people can still pull a legit 40-something cougar. Maybe 50 for fat, ugly guys with crappy jobs. I would think that at 29 and in good shape you’re not anywhere close to panic mode if want to get married down the road. You can easily marry a 28 y/o chick, while you’re maybe 36.
