what are your thoughts on the best books to use to study for level 2?(uppermark, caia, etc.)
I’m a big fan of prep provider notes; the original readings are very long and wordy.
You’ll be fine with either Uppermark or Shwesser. The CAIA exams aren’t very difficult.
I’d broadly agree with Wendy, pending my L2 results next week.
However I would add that the Schweser notes (and I imagine Uppermark) will condense the material down in a a way that you may miss some small items. I’m fairly sure I saw at least one question tested from the CAIA book where the information was not in Schweser.
Having said that I would still go with Schweser and ignore the CAIA books.
Monito, how do you know that Level 2 results come out next week? Did you get an email?
Firstly sorry it’s not next week it should be the week after.
Secondly no I have not been chosen to receieve such secretive information as when they will post results. I’m going by prior form, which would suggest Monday at 9am EST and by their own site which says within 6 weeks of the close of the test window which gives them until Friday 1st November
Schweser…all day every day.
I think it depends on your background and learning style and even work/study schedule. Found UM really great on L1 but I wasn’t working so had full straight days to go over material and master the test bank. For L2, while working, even though Schweser material was easier to pick up, I found it extremely difficult to remember material between study periods… hope that helps!
I have Uppermark books for Level 2 (March 2013 and Sept 2013) for sale - message me if interested.
