Hi!

MIT (Sloan), Princeton are the top programs in US. whats your view on UK schools? Oxford? I guess David Cameron’s policies hurting immigration and UK economy both
MIT and Princetons ones are closer to Mathematical Finance than traditional master’s in finance even though MIT’s is less quantitative relatively speaking. Other than those two I’d rank US program as below based on placement:
Claremont McKenna College
Vanderbilt
WUSTL
Villanova, USC, University of Texas, Boston College in the same bucket behind Claremont and Vanderbilt and WUSTL.
I was admitted to all of them and went through each recruiting process, hope that helps.
You were admitted to all 9 of these programs? That’s seems a little ridiculous that you would even apply to all of these, presumably if you could get into Princeton you could get a job that would put you in a better place than a masters at a bunch of those schools (not that they are bad, just not like great)
Anyway I don’t get the sense that there are many good masters in finance that are not quantitative finance/financial engineering. I think generally for most jobs the MBA is still the way to go (after working for a few years).
Thank you
I did not apply to the Princeton one as that one takes two years I believe and extremely quantitative which was not something I was looking for. I think for most people a MSC in Finance helps them get a better job if they did not obtain an ideal job right out of college (most of my class obtained offers from investment banks 6 months before graduation). It is only one year and extremely helpful if you are taking the CFA, however it does not hinder one from applying to a MBA later on. Hope that helps.
