Can some one explain to me the job description related to this title in treasury department in one of the multinational bank ? what is the rule specifically and if this job related to CFA 4 years work experience or not ?
I work in Treasury Sales A Treasury Sales dealer will typically face clients (not the professional markets) and will primarily sell treasury products to the bank’s client. The product will cover FX, Interest Rate, Commodities, Derivatives etc. It is related
hey ayolope, thanks for ur quickly respond. I would like to ask if this is more interesting or the one who will face proffesional life market ,and in the long run which is better . I would like to get also your mail to contact you. Thank you
Which is more interesting? depends on you and your skills? You need sales and marketing skill to face clients. To face the professional makets - you need guts and trading skills. The succesful (emphasis on successful) trader gets paid a lot more but it all depends
ok . I would like to ask of treasury sales dealer has a good future career or u will stay in the same position your whole life
you dont need any charter for a dealer position. for sales you need big tits, sorry “soft skills”. I am derivatives trader and structurer. I dont need cfa charter for this position. a dealer position is not about career, it is about money. If you become the head of a desk, you get higher salary and more benefits. My experience. …whole life… depends how much you like money, after 5-10 years in treasury you will find it is not so exciting anymore, as in any position, but you will want to stay because money you get there are double or triple or more of any other position in the bank, after the board …
I work in options trading…I agree 100% with above posts…Any job within the baking industry gets dull after a few years. Structuring is a bit fun depending upon marlet apetite for risk and product demand…Index generation , ETF’s , pension products etc are some good avenues for a structurer to stay busy these days… Trading gets boring after 4-5 years. But if you move up the ladder, money is really good. At the end , any position within Sales & Trading is all about hardwork, being smart and sharp at all times and knowing some really good math ( not the high school math) but real math ( most guys are quite technical). Money flows inn ( a lot if you have some luck and are really good). CFA is not needed and not asked for. CFA is good to have for = Research dept. ; Investment Banking new joiner ( associate level etc) but then again the emphasis is more on your under-grad or master’s degree and not so much on a cfa itself.
