Very confused about urgency of trade related to dark pools. I see they are concerned about information leakage and have large order sizes. But it’s with illiquid securities.
Would this be high urgency or low? Or maybe it could be either depending on the alpha decay? I dont know. Thanks
It could be either, depending on alpha decay.
Thanks. I wish like I could visualize all this like you do S2000. Very hard for me. Your help has been so phenomenal during this.
For liquidity seeking, is it high urgency all the time. I think that one is.
You flatter me.
It’s a matter of experience. You do something 1,000 times and you get good at it, whether you like it or not.
Again, you flatter me.
I’m glad that I have provided some useful help.
Usually, but not always.
In markets where liquidity is episodic (high today, low tomorrow), a trader may use an opportunistic (liquidity seeking) approach even when the urgency is low.
Urgency is more a function of the motivation for trading than it is a function of a specific trading algorithm.
TY again! I hope I don’t have to write this 1000 times!
