Using ir swap to adjust duration gap- do you always divide net swap BPV by 100?

schweser p 260 says that to get notional principal to close the duration gap you need to divide swap BPV by 100- is this always the case?

I think so! There was a CFA EOC question on this and I used the divide by 100 method because it was a swap…worked ok.

I’m sure somebody else is more knowledgeable than me however.
