I am writing this to know what is the real worth of CFA charter holders in Australia. I Know its a fantastic and well regarded global qualification but i am confused with its worth in Australia as it is an isolated continent unlike Europe which is a mix of 27-28 global financial markets and Canada + USA who have well established financial markets.
i specially want students from australia to comment as i have to take some important decisions in next couple of months
Mate the CFA is fair dinkum. Everyone in the investment industry from Woolloomooloo to Gundagai knows its tougher than a woodpecker’s lips. They’d be a flamin’ galah if they didn’t know.
CFA is definatetly valued but australia is a smaller job market to the larger money centres, with superannuation and pension making up a large piece of the funds management industry. Interesting observation here is that many who get into portfolio managent come from an actuarial science background.
