Where in Australia are you based?

Have you attempted to write your own research? Approached any employers?

Scatterbraine:

I haven’t written any research on my own.

Have tried to find some jobs on seek perhaps because i don’t have any relevant experience thus receive no reply.

Do u know any other way to find an employer who is willing to hire a CFA Charterholder?

How can you credibly say that you want to become an investment analyst if you don’t have any stock write-ups of your own to discuss? This is the first thing that any employer worth their salt will look for, especially since you don’t have relevant work experience.

Is it possible that anyone can show me how they do their very first stock research?

Hi JBrowntown:

The website that you have provided contained a lot of articles. Which one is yours?

Good luck, in a similar situation in Australia, have my CFA, but finding it a major battle at the moment. at least youre employed though!

TansferpriceCFA:

I think even in Sydney or Melbourne, it will be really hard to find a junior analyst role?

however I have seen a lot of opportunities in Hong Kong and Singapore. If you can live overseas.

I’m in a similar situation, although I’ve got FOF experience. Finding it to be pretty tough going at the moment also!

Spend at least a year or two in sell-side research if you want to go to the buy-side. Or perhaps there’s an opening for a research role at your firm?

Otherwise it’s a stretch - certainly in this environment - to go direct…
