I could have sworn we were allowed to utilize the back of our exam ticket as a cheat sheet. If not, then it looks like Steph and I will be FSA buds from now on!

The day they let us bring in a 300pg txt book… just imagine… Writing on the back of your exam ticket whilst writting the exam is different. But definetely, no cheat sheets.

I think the latest candidate bulletin said a cheat sheet or laptop computer are fine. (but not both)

Serious question… what about pencils. I presume we need a #2, but are mechanical pencils ok, or do we all need a pile of sharpened old school yellow wooded ones? (You think I am kidding, but I’m not.)

Chi, I wondered the same thing, cuz old school wooded ones are a pain. I found this on the CFAI website: "What type of pencil can I use during the exam? CFA Institute will permit candidates to use regular or mechanical pencils provided that they use Number 2 or HB lead. In the event that you are unable to locate a Number 2 or HB pencil, any pencil with soft lead/graphite will suffice. " http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprog/faq/faqs_candidates.html

I am thinking that as long as your bullet proof vest does not have financial formula on it then there is nothing in the rules that would prevent you from wearing it into the exam. There are some really good bomb suits that have awesome ear plugs.

I’ve already tattooed every formula required in FSA on my stomach. Watchya gonna do? Take that, CFAI!
