I stumbled upon a situation with my suervisor when he asked me what I was up to and I told him well right now im studying for the CFA exam and he asked me what is that. I dint know what to answer because I think only us candidates or Charterholders know the real meaning of it. So i started looking for the words to try to make my supervisor understand that its a tittle with a lot of prestige. At least for me it is…Any suggestions on how to approach these types of questions?
Chartered Financial Analyst.
Say it’s one of the more difficult and comprehensive finance certifications. Tell him what it covers - that sort of stuff.
Believe if i go over what it covers only in L2 i would be still talking to him
Edit: I also would like to shock the person i tell what it means with a few words…Like when they ask me what it is I would be like “The Sh**” and they simply get it
well, you could say something like ’ it is regarded as the gold standard of the finance industry’ or some such nonsense…?
Maybe you shouldn’t explain it and change jobs once you get your charter.
I suggest explaining the CFA using any of the following
CFA. What does that stand for? Certified financial…advisor?
In my experience, if you have to explain to somebody what the CFA charter is, they will probably not recognize the value in it. In other words, you should probably start looking for a job that employs existing charterholders.
cfa, it gets you laid
This is without doubt, the best answer I’ve ever read on the forum…
