What happens if there's a Riot or Civil Unrest on the Exam Day? [CFA]

For more info, there’s going to be a scheduled mass demonstration happening on December 2nd here in Jakarta, Indonesia with allegedly almost 100k men participating.

There might be a chance that a riot or civil unrest might occur, although very slim. Last time this happened (on November 4th), there was a localized riot happening at night but was quickly resolved before morning next day.

Suppose a riot does break out and stretches until December 3rd morning or afternoon, would CFAI cancel the exam and refund my exam fee or allow me to sit in for June 2017 exam but following the June 2017 curriculum? would we receive instructions via email?

Shouldn’t you email CFAI directly?

There is zero chance they will give you back the money. The best case is they allow you to sit for the next exam.

There have been similar issues in the past. If the exam is canceled in your city you will most likely be able to take the exam in June at no additional cost. Another option would be to push the exam back to Sunday.

Email the CFA Institute and they will usually respond very promptly.
