I am on Study session 11. book 3 of schweser and I am doing the books in order. I am going to try and finish this stuff in one about 25 to 30 more days. and then reread everything again and do cfai eoc questions and watch videos along with it. then schweser pratice exams volume 1 and 2 and secret sauce. LOL that is the “plan” anyway. I will obviously fall short of some of the goals and end up doing the best out of the time left. How much have you guys covered and what are your plans???
Trying to finish up FRA and waiting for Schweser materials for review and Qbank.
Finished reading Stalla guides, currently up to Reading 5 in CFAI EOC’s, SS11 in Passmaster and SS4 in the online lecture.
so far behind, should’ve started immediately after taking L1 but i wanted some time to relax/recover… Anyway, I have finished reading the Schweser for Ethics, Quant, Economics, FSA, and Corp Fin (basically 2 books). Have only done schweser questions in the text (havent even received my CFAI texts in the mail). Haven’t touched Qbank yet. Plus its my busy time at work, so much less time for studying… So i maybe royally screwed…
^^^Lol you think you’re far behind, I just started Quant.
Smiley…you are fine. I have only completed Ethics, Econ, Quant and FSA 1. On track to finish everything with 5 weeks of review. Plenty of time. I dont understand how people can zip through readings so fast…are you taking notes, grasping the subject…i dont know i guess that is not how I study. You are fine though and have plenty of time.
smiley you are alongside me. i have just read 50 60 pages more then you. we will have to grind for the next 30 days and finish the books. you need a lot of time for revisions questions etc
Read all of CFAI FRA (and done 90% of EOC Q’s) and now reading CFAI Corp Finance. Will read Schweser for the Quant stuff next…that stuff can bog you down. I have to add I see no point ‘zipping’ thru these books…read them, absorb it, do the Q’s. Good luck.
Cover what? When is the exam?
I have read Econ, Quant, Ethics, AI and am just finishing FI (all Schweser). I have taken notes on all chapters and did the Schweser questions. I have just received the CFA materials, so will start to incorporate this in my studying from here onwards. Looking to finish going through everything by the end of March and then it’s revision, questions, and more revision from there onwards. So far I find that the material is not hugely difficult, but it’s very tedious and I am really struggling to remember the stuff I am learning despite the fact that I make a conscious effort to realy understand everything. But the sheer number of formulas is a real killer…
Working on FI. Have D’s and PM left. Have done Q bank for everything but these sections.
hey guys, yeah i’m having a little problem with retention right now, kinda plowing through the material, some stuff sticks, some stuff doesnt. I don’t have the Secret Sauce (but i’ll probably get it) so i have printed up the schweser end of chapter LOS summaries and read them everyday on my commute back and forth to work, which is about an hour each way. I really retain stuff by doing practice questions, its what always works for me. Then when i identify weak areas, I double down by reading the CFAI texts. For L1, i only used CFAI when i was doing poorly on a Qbank area or just not understanding something. I’ve seen here that only Schweser can bite you in the ass on L2, but it worked so well for me on L1, i’m still gonna try it as the foundation

it’s probably more important to not worry where other people are and focus on what works for you, you go too hard too soon, you will burn out and retain nada
started in october. finishing PM tonight which will conclude all CFAI text (including a full notebook of EOC answers). starting tomorrow i’ll start going through schwesers books as well as their video classes and q bank to enhance retention
Going in order (skipping Ethics until the very end), I’m finishing up corporate finance. I do about a reading a day, one study session per week, and on the weekends I watch the Schweser Video for the study session to tie everything together. I use Schweser for the readings, and do the Schweser and CFAI end of chapter questions for all readings.
NYC do you see a major difference in cfa eoc and schweser eoc, can can you please elaborate on that
Getting my butt kicked by Residual Income and Multistage Residual Income Models
