Hello, I did the CFA L3 exam this last weekend and want to pursue the CAIA. Just curious for your opinion - is it too late to start studying for the CAIA? Thank you.
I started CAIA L1 on 7/28/09 and took the test six weeks later. I had just completed CFA L1. I passed both, so it is possible to pass and certainly not too late if you put in the time. I am taking CAIA L2 at the end of September having just completed CFA L2.
Thanks, ATH… much appreciated. I think I’d like to get this one sooner as well.
just finsihed the cfa level two starting the caia level today
Level 1 is very easy. I did it after being burn out from a CFA exam last year. You can do it in 150 hours or less. BUT DON’T take the second level in March unless you passed the CFA L3, if not [hope not] take CAIA L2 in Sept. so you don’t burn yourself out sick of it all and risk failing the CFA exams, when they only give it once a year. Trust me on this one. Put in about 220’s hours for CAIA L2 [this one took more energy]. Best of luck, if you start now, you will have plenty of time.
studied 3-4 weeks for L1 as the material is straight-forward. and listen to Nep-hi on the timing of your CAIA & CFA candidacies. CAIA 2 must be done in September!!! It was seriously brutal this year with CAIA 2 in March and CFA 2 in June.
