To all charterholders and soon-to-be charterholders: Where do you put the letters, where don’t you? LinkedIn, business cards, email signature? I’m thinking of putting them on LinkedIn and into the email signature, but not on the business card. Not sure why, guess it’s what I’ve mostly seen from other charterholders.
All of the above are OK.
License plate, in a banner on the front of your house. Personally, I cut “CFA” into the grass on the hill on my front yard. It’s the way to play.
Kidding, of course.
All of your examples are good ideas, and what I do myself. Put it on your business card too.
CubsFanCPA said he was going to get “CFA” tattooed on his lower back.

That’d be a walking violation if he ever loses the charter lol
Know a number of people who don’t bother putting it next to their name on LinkedIn. These people generally got their charters ages ago and I would assume they’ve turned somewhat “blasé” with its significance career-wise. It makes sense given that experience, contacts and reputation and leadership qualities are undoubtedly more important determinants of career progress as one moves up the ladders. Most that I know in this situation still append the letters to their email signature and on business cards. Gotta make that yearly fee worthwhile!
I haven’t had to pay the annual fee for many years now (employer pays). but the only value I get is having it on LinkedIn and the business card
hashtag, you’ve redeemed yourself slightly with that comment.
Only in this forum do I put CPA at the end of my name; I reference my state and license # in my linkedin profile and resume. My thought process being that I don’t do anything that requires me to be a CPA, i.e. I’m not an audit partner, so it doesn’t have to be conspicuous. I will do the same thing with the charter.
