Dear All, I could not find any better place to ask this. Maybe you could help me. Is there any kind of specialised software that for financial analysts use for their planning and advice things? Just curious and I could try itjust to see if it can better help me in my studies.
Just let me know the software(s) if possible.
Thanks

That depends on what type of finance you are in and what kind of analysis you are doing.
In general:
Essentials: Excel and VBA programming in excel.
Fixed income, porftfolio management and equities and other areas requiring statistical analysis or simulation will often use MatLab/Octave, R, Stata.
Essential data mining software is SQL.
Other big programs to familiarize are Factset and Bloomberg but are much more difficult to obtain access too.
