Food to eat on exam day

I need to keep my brain power on full blast the entire day and would like to get some insights on what food would be beneficial to eat for breakfast and lunch. My personal choices are: Breakfast 1. Cereals - Energy to last the entire morning 2. Milk - calcium boost 3. Coffee - to wake up Lunch 1. Hotdog sandwich - carbo loading 2. Coffee - keep brain on a high for the afternoon session What about yours? Please also indicate reason for the choice.

Breakfast: 1. Bowl of prunes 2. 3 shots of triple espresso Lunch: 1. ultra-hot vindaloo I always find I tighten up during an exam, and you gotta keep loose you know

A hot dog + coffee sounds like a torture device that only the CFAI could possibly conceive. I would discount your afternoon session by 15 minutes with that combo. I’d stay away from caffeine in the afternoon. It will leverage your afternoon anxiety and nerves. Plus, you will probably feel the “crash” an hour or so into the exam. Maybe you would want to test this meal strategy a few days in advance. You do need carbs though. You’re running a mental marathon all day and trust me you will feel the burn set in with an hour to go in the PM session. I was surprised at how amped up I was on exam day. Half excited and half nervous I suppose.

I found an interesting post on StudentDoctor.net – might give you guys some ideas: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=257101 The “hot dog sandwich” might be good if the sandwich is whole grain/buckwheat/oats as opposed to simple carbohydrates. However I’d probably avoid the hot dog as it’s loaded in saturated fats and proteins, which are hard to digest and will probably make you tired. For the coffee, I’d be careful drinking coffee too loaded in sugar. Simple sugars to begin with are metabolized quickly and might not give you a lasting burst of energy. However, just drinking coffee even without sugar is probably something you’ll want to carefully monitor – it’s a diuretic which will cause you to go to the bathroom once or twice during the session, not to mention that caffeine itself can disrupt glucose metabolism. My general thought is that if coffee is part of your daily routine, go for it…but don’t change up everything you’re doing on exam day unless you’re really tired or need an extra kick. The exam day isn’t the best time to tinker with new routines.

Ok seriously, my ritual for the exam has always been: Breakfast: 1 - bowl of muesli 2 - banana 3 - cup of tea/coffee Lunch: 1 - cheese bread roll 2 - banana 3 - energy bar (not those caffeine ones, just the muesli type ones) 4 - Gatorade

It gave me lots of energy to sit through the whole the afternoon exam. So it ended up really working for me. I was surprised myself lol. Maybe I fall under the outlier category.

Breakfast: -Brown Bread -tuna fish -Green Tea (dont want to be over caffeinated with coffee in the morning) Lunch -Brown bread -Turkey -Banana -Coffee My lunch choice saved my afternoon exam last year.

Breakfast - bread, water (no risk = no milk, no juice) Lunch - bread, water - afterwards, find a quiet place during the break and close your eyes for 3-5 mins. Dinner - pizza, fried chicken

Breakfast: Finish the Jack Daniels left in my fridge from the night before Half a Jimmy Dean Sausage pack Glass of organic skim milk Lunch: Two double downs 48 oz slurpee Apple

Morning: 1 Banana 2-3 slices whole wheat bread 1 whole egg 1 ice coffee no cream no sugar 1 sugar free redbull Afternoon Sandwich - whole wheat bread, cold cuts 1 ice coffee no cream no sugar 1 sugar free redbull

Breakfast: Cup of coffee and a smoke. Lunch: Lunch is for wimps.

A more important question: should you have sex the night before the exam? (assuming it’s available) Pros: - take your mind off the exam - reduce the inclination to fantasize about the hottie in row G40 halfway through the exam - you get to have sex Cons: - depending on your style, a severe and potentially exam-ending injury may occur - no sex Missed anything?

Morning - Wheaties Fuel cereal and a chai latte Lunch - Turkey sandwich from panera (only decent food near the exam location) and a 5 Hour energy drink to make sure I can focus for the PM session Dinner - Lots and lots of empty calories

Definitely a double down sandwich from KFC.

Breakfast will be some Honey Bunches of Oats. I would prefer Taco Bell for lunch, but the bubble-guts which generally results from two steak chalupas is just too risky. I’ll probably bring a sandwich and hit the craps table for a few (yeah - my exam is at a casino this year - I don’t know how to feel about that).

no food establishments around the toronto location = find a place outside that doesn’t smell like piss and eat your bag lunch breakie: bagel w/ cheddar 1/2 of a Tim’s black medium coffee 1 bottle of water lunch: 2 paninis w/ ham, turkey, hot cappocollo, tomatoes separately wrapped 1/2 lb of portuguese spicy chicken 4 pieces of fruit (bananas, apples) 4 nutrigrain bars some cookies 2 bottles of water 1 can of coke ^^ i don’t live in the city so i’d stay with my dad pre-exam and get a ride w/ him. he’d make my lunch for me so i didn’t have to worry about it. this is what he’d pack. disclaimer: i’m only 110 lbs. i can’t even eat that much when i’m not nervous for an exam. did me well though, 3/3. variety is the spice of life?

For me - the answer is no. 1) By fantasizing about the hottie in G40, I’ll be better prepared when I bang her out during the lunch break. Like Jordan, I visualize my conquests before they happen 2) The night before, I like to just chill out solo and read my notes ‘gingerly’. I also like to drink two bud lights and do 100 pushups.

Breakfast: Carmel rolls Coffee Preventative Advil Lunch: Sandwich Apple Chips Soda / water Second round of Advil

Breakfast: Bag of Doritos cool ranch flavor Jumbo hot dog Coca-cola Lunch: Two chocolate bars Big bowl of pasta Ice cream for dessert 7up to wash it down

Is the answer ever no?
