if DT = SC (Daenarys Targaryen = Sarah Connor). THEN BS = JC (Bran Stark = John Connor). Arnold is the prince who was promised, he’ll “Be Back” to stop the white walkers.
It’s been awhile since I’ve seen the first season but I believe there was a pretty sad scene involving Arya throwing rocks at Nymeria to tell her to get gone for her own safety.
^ Although I did not particularly enjoy the wart scene, I am grateful for its inclusion because now anytime the Mrs. complains about all the female nudity I can note that they had a frank and beans close up.
^ I don’t know that a brief appearance by Bronn is enough to save this season. We better get some real action in the last two episodes of the season and they better close out some story lines. The season is really dragging for me and I’m starting to lose interest.
I thought it was a decent episode, if not a bit short. Not including The Hound in the previously on and then dropping him into the cold open was a nice touch. Olenna’s figurative undressing of Cersei was the best KL scene for me all season. And the Blackfish. Oh the Blackfish. What a BSD.
Terrible waste of Ian McShane though. When I heard he was cast for this season I was ecstatic and just one episode? Well at least I have the time to re-watch Deadwood now that that god awful exam is over.
They could have easily wrapped up Arya’s Braavos storyline last night. They’ve dragged out her time in Braavos so much, I don’t even care what happens to her anymore. The trailer for next week looked like it could be good, but they tricked us a few weeks ago with the trailer when they made it look like there would be a confrontation between the Sparrows and Tyrells.
Not a lot of action last night, but still a few nice moments.
I enjoyed the Yara scene, and also her reveal about how she intends to outsmart Euron.
Arya looks like she’s in trouble, but we still have some scenes from the trailer that haven’t come up yet, so it will be interesting to see how we get from here to there.
The Blackfish was indeed awesome, but it was good to see Jaime in his element too. Bronn added some extra kick-ass attitude to make us feel good about watching.
Clearly a lot is being set up. We still have 3 episodes to go (8, 9, 10) before the long wait, so let’s hope it delivers. I wonder if the big action ep is next week’s, just to stick a finger in the face of anyone who’s saying “the big action ep is always ep #9”.
Yara won’t outsmart Euron. Euron will bang Dany and Yara might be toast (literally?). The whole season is now just setting up for the endgame. The battle of the bastards in E9 is going to be the end of Ramsay, resulting in consolidation of northern power leading to the endgame.
