Tommy - have you done the LOS constructed response questions? Does Elan have a practice exam for level 3? I’m doing EOC and old CFA’s (BB’s if I notice something I missed), but I just reviewed the Schweser constructed response questions for sessions 4 and 5 (which I have weakness on specifically) and they seemed to help note what I’m missing.
^Yeah, I did them a while back. They were helpful. I’ve been sticking to the CFAI material here in May. I just feel like CFAI has the BB and EOC questions in there b/c that is the stuff they want you to know, so I don’t want to rely on a third party at this point to prepare me.
I agree on schweser mocks…I’ve stopped writing them since i wrote the first three. …the am sections are horrible and the pm sections test obscure parts of the curriculum…I’m not gonna touch another one
It was difficult but I still managed a 67% which is acceptable IMO. The things I missed in the 2013 version I just simply didn’t know whereas the 2012 version I knew most of the material but just couldn’t formulate the right answer.
I don’t work for schweser and I am not trying to defend them or anything. but if you think the am sections are “horrible” you should read the 2006 CFAI Level 3 exam quesion 4 and compare it to the mock exam in Schweser Volume 2, am Exam 3 question 11.
That is quite beside the point…that they got a question identical to an actual exam 9 years ago doesn’t mean much. …compared to the quality and clarity of past cfa actual am sections, schweser is pretty inferior quality …and I’m a fan of schweser mocks. …I took all 12 for levels one and two…just don’t think they meet the mark for level 3…just my $0.02
I took the 2013 AM and 2015 AM* this weekend. 66AM, 80PM. Im killing the MC, I’ve only taken two, but I’ve got 78 and 80… its the AM that worries me as 66 was my highest by about 10 percentage points, I’m hoping its not an anomaly and just a result of a lot of hard work since taking my last mock.
