Bipartisanship = unrestrained corporatism (the left/right wings of the corporatist party colluding).
Coming soon…no debt ceiling, deficit funded corporate tax breaks, corporate healthcare 2.0, continued crushing of free speech, continued institutionalized discrimination against majority groups (aka supressing the masses)…
@STL. Agree, but I actually think it is simpler than that. Trump is pretty easily manipulated and will latch on to whatever will help him in the media. Sometimes that actually ends in good things, like bipartisan deals. Sometimes that leads to bad things, which is why he is could be dangerous.
It will be interesting to see what the Republican approval rating does.
I don’t think he wants to resort to military action. I do think he’s trying to beat Kim at his own game. Instead of letting NK blackmail the world into easing sanctions by showing off their atomic power/ICBMs/huge penis, Trump is trying to out-insane Kim. The next step will be for us to start shooting their missiles out of the air (if we can actually do that). That would be as close to military action as we’d take.
As Bannon correctly stated, we can’t do anything to NK because they’d level Seoul before we could wipe them out. In this game of Risk, NK has out maneuvered the rest of the players. They can’t win, but can’t be defeated without severely damaging other players. So it’s a stalemate until someone decides to throw a tantrum and flip the board over.
I agree thats why its an idiotic line of thinking.
STL - thats a possibility but I think Trump thinks he is way more slick than he is. Hes dealing with a mentally unstable person, I have been hoping we would just shoot down one of their rockets for a while. I think thats the best strategy. Bannon is correct, war with NK would be a disaster
Trump has stacked his cabinet with some of the most brilliant military generals of our generation. I think (hope) he has a strategy. Do you think Hillary would have had the balls to stand up in the UN and call all of these nations on their shit? The orange buffoon may be as abrasive as sand paper but he’s right that we cannot continue the way we have over the last few decades with respect to NK.
It’s the right move to stand up to North Korea. They have nothing in the end - you can’t bluff when everyone knows you have no good cards. Trump has responded with tough rhetoric and harder sanctions, rather than relief (extortion payments) that North Korea was hoping for. They have a pie on their face, and that’s why the are trying to find new country’s to threaten - Japan, specifically, the land of p*ssies. Eventually, they will run out of people to bully and fall in line. Are they going to bomb South Korea or Guam, or launch a missile over Hawaii? Any of these will result in instant extermination of the Kim regime.
Trump is not a brilliant strategist. He is just a big bully. However, in this case, this just happens to be a good response to another bully.
Sanctions and isolation never work, just compare Cuba and Vietnam. Trump and Rocket Man are using each other to help themselves politically. If we opened up trade with North Korea the current leadership structure would be done within 10 years.
I disagree. Kim will seize any trade gains while keeping the population destitute and ignorant. His dominance over the country encompasses all aspects of their lives and ideology. All that will come of leniency is some shiny new rockets and modern military equipment to park 40 miles from Seoul. Kim will use this show of wealth and technology to strengthen his personality cult.
whoa whoa whoa. why is japan the land of pussies. those people almsot took over all of asia. actually i hear japan is nationalizing again, or at least they are electing people that want a remilitarization. if it wasnt for us. china would be japan. lol
What would you think would happen to North Korea if they launched a missile over the US, like they did over Japan, twice? Let’s say they fly a bomb over Texas or something. They would be annihilated instantly. The US would say to everyone, F this. “You are either with us or against us”. Japan doesn’t even have a real military. They have a bunch of polite old people and hentai enthusiasts whose only recourse is to write a politely worded letter to the UN asking for them to eventually consider the possibility of discussing some diplomatic action.
That was sort of our doing. Repercussions for the whole trying to take over Asia thing.
Edit: Same with Germany. And since neither had to spend money on their military they were able to invest in their own economy and became super successful.
