I was just reading the latest on this. Pretty interesting.
My prediction - The French surrender to the fascist again.
Le Pen, closet supporters.
I was reading that the guy who paid his wife and kid with govt funds to do nothing is the sleeper pick that is going to get the silent majority, who knows. Le Pen is the Trump/Putin candidate right?
They’ll say, yeah, we are not qualified to run this country, and surrender their charter to Germany.

Essentially, their choices are 1) A nationalist who wants to exit the EU and who 70% of French are terrified of, 2) Some guy from a party with no governing history, 3) The guy who misappropriated government funds to pay his family and should probably be jailed, and 4) Communists - like real communists.
However, due to the multi round election, any combination of two of these candidates could make it to the final round; all 4 have about a quarter of the poll share. Even if Macron or Fillon would have won a straight up vote against any remaining candidate, both could be knocked out in the first round. Anyone who thought US elections were a circus should look at this for perspective.

Joking apart: one quarter to one third of French voters are still undecided (or even not willing to participate), thus all polls are still meaningless (remember Brexit and US elections). Most of the French want the change, that would speak imho in favor of the independent Macron. Fillon has no backing in the public, although Les Républicains have a good chance to lead the elections for National Assembly (in June?).
My guess is that Macron and Le Epn will make it to the second ballot, and that France rejects such insane proposals like a 100% tax rate (as far-left Melochchon did)…! Maybe somebody from France can further elaborate on that???
I think it will be Le Pen and Macron in round 2, with Macron winning. A damn shame IMO because while Le Pen is outrageous with her economic policy, Macron will bring absolutely no change and is totally in line with the globalist agenda.
I think the best candidate is Fillion, but he is having issues with some minor scandals, unfortunately.
Oh and to those of you with the hillbilly jokes about France surrendering, open a history book FFS, because you are embarrassing yourselves.
Sure WWII was a sh1tty war for France, but just so you know, Americans were seen as WWI’s p*ssies and war profiteers. You can’t judge a nation on a single war.

who watches last week with john oliver. Their research is really good. they did a piece on this. much better than reading the reports i read plus its funnier.
dont watch it regularly but I watch the recaps online sometimes, the reporting is pretty in depth but people will still throw it to the side because its coated with sugar for hte american public. Same reason everyone throws away Buzzfeeds journalism department even though they are pretty legit because they made their name making “Which Disney Princess Are You?” quizzes or showing you the " 21 Most Important Cats of the Week!"
