As a Minnesotan, I can tell you that the reaction has basically been “That’s it. I’ve had it with this dump. We’ve got no food! We’ve got no jobs! OUR PETS HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!”

I have. Used to get out there on a friend’s boat. Never had pancakes or played any spontaneous basketball out that way, but definitely purified my body in those waters a time or two.

I was surprised to read that Prince was his actual birth name.
…but then I remembered his ancestry and realized I wasn’t wholly surprised.
I’m not ashamed to admit that Purple Rain is one of my favorite albums of all time. The man had talent. I did not know though that he has a ton of unreleased material that he found too personal or not good enough to release. Sadly, I’m sure his family will start compiling it into albums to cash in.
