Now the great and glorious Donald John Trump gets to nominate your replacement.
What are the odds that the Democrats pull the same stunt the Republicans did four years ago?

WSJ is reporting that one of leading contenders for her place is…drum roll please…
Ted Cruz! Senator from the great state of Texas!!!
Didn’t his dad kill JFK? Sins of the father…
Cruz has said that he will decline the nomination.
Yes he did–before there was a nomination imminent.
Will he change his mind? (You don’t have to run for re-election if you’re a SC justice.)
Dems can’t pull the same stunt Republicans did four years ago because they don’t have the votes. As for his pick, he’ll probably choose Amy Coney Barratt. Although, I can see Trump sticking Tom Cotton in there to take him out of contention from Potus (clearing the way for Don Jr.).
he said hes going to pick a woman and hes down to 5 names. median time it takes for appointments about 70 days though. he should be able to appoint a new person as has about 4 months!
I don’t know Senate procedure, but could all the Democrat Senators just not show up for the vote? IIRC, once upon a time, a lot of Senators didn’t want to vote on something so they (literally) packed up and left the country, so there wasn’t a quorum in the Senate, and they couldn’t vote.
I can definitely see something petulant and childish like this happening.
Sure, like the childishness and petulance of throwing a temper tantrum and not allowing Merrick Garland’s nomination to be heard, such as what happened in 2016, which is the first time in nearly a century that the Senate refused to immediately restaff a Supreme Court vacancy.
^Not disagreeing with you, but the Republicans are following the Golden Rule.
What was the Democrats’ first sin, exactly?
Attack others before they attack you?
^He who has the gold (or in this case, the votes) makes the rules.
Do the Republicans have the votes?
Will they when the nomination comes to the Senate for a vote?
They’ve got 53 votes right now. They will presumably have 53 votes until January 2.
And they only need 51.
there will be 15 judges jan 3 lol

Apparently not.
If Arizona’s senatorial election goes to Kelly, he’ll be sworn in this (calendar) year.
