I am starting tomorrow (Jan 1) as well. Surprisingly, I feel somewhat energized to start studying… but I know that burnout is always a risk for me. Last year, for level 2, I started to burn out around late April. For Level 1, burn out started mid May. I hope Level 3 material is indeed “easier” to learn! Good luck everyone.
Hate to say it because I like this site ( I am sitll on it after finishing), but in order to pass L3 I had to bail on this place. The constant chatter about certain topics had my mind going in too many directions. For both L2 and L3, the times I passed (after failing both) were years where I checked out of AF.
I don’t even look at the technical questions, or the questions that involve curriculum. I just vent and troll. But I seem to spend too much time venting and trolling.
I fear coming back to this place to be honest. Brings back all the good and the bad memories. still no updates on the investigation. are you taking lvl 3 again this june bro?
you…are alive?! must be christmas miracle mate…have you called those bums up regarding the investigation? As to L3 for me i am not retaking it,at least not this year!
haha. i am still trying to be that kinda nerd at the moment. I pretty much took break from CFA last year so I am nw finding it hard to get into full study mode. How are you doing so far?
Started with SS3. Read the CFAI notes and watched the Schweser videos. Will try and do the Schweser questions tomorrow. Not too bad so far. A lot more interesting than Level 2!!
My advice so far, don’t read ethics. The questions are the same from June 2012 L2. What’s funny is that I have done a couple of them and said “This question is stupid. I remember getting that answer wrong during practice last year because this question is stupid.”
The ethics material is the exact same every year from Level 1 to Level 2 to Level 3. It is straight out of the handbook, 10th edition. It will continue to be the same every year, in every level, until they change the handbook.
